Eat Well: #abcsofyyc #embarcadero

ABC's of YYC (Week 5: E)

We have been craving some oysters for a while and Embarcadero fit perfectly in our E week.  They have a large selection of oysters that are always fresh and delicious.

For once the bread was actually worth mentioning.  It was warm and soft with a wonderful crunchy crust.

Oyster Platter - One of each variety (13 oysters)

We both opted for the platter because we enjoy the variety and we get to pick and discuss our favourites.  All of the oysters are very fresh, some of them were a bit briny while others had a unique flavour.  We both really enjoyed the Little Wing with my other favourites being Lucky 7 and Little Stiffie, whereas John enjoyed Kumamoto and Kusshi.

Catch of the Day - Filet of Cod with Panko Crust and Prawns served on a bed of Sweet Pea and Red Pepper Marscapone Risotto

The cod was cooked perfectly and tasted great with the Panko adding a nice crunch.  The prawns tasted fresh but could have used a bit more flavour.  The risotto was done a bit passed Al Dente which is perfect for us.  Overall, the dish was presented beautifully and tasted just as good as it looks.

We were quite impressed with this meal as our previous experiences with their hot food was only sub par.  Now they have great oysters and great entrĂ©es to go with them.  We will definitely be coming back to try some of their other menu items.

Enjoy!
